DANIEL EAKINS
A Walk In The Rain
This work displays an understanding of the natural effects of light and water.
The reflections from the ground serve as a visual anchor to the center of the canvas, while the bright swashes of color allow the viewer’s eye to dance around, as if trying to catch the drops of rain. Color plays a role in the overall balance of the piece by causing the viewer’s eye to travel along the accents of red, while journeying down the street along with the figures.
A native of Lake City, Eakins is a graduate of Arkansas State University
with a bachelor of science in education and art. Eakins has recently joined the faculty of Westside High School as an art teacher. Pursuing art from an early age, Eakins said, “Art is a form of relaying ideas, thoughts and images in a way that enraptures and inspires others.”
