Hello, my name is Lee Kelley, and I’m the Executive Director of the Delta Symphony Orchestra. 

I’m writing here because of Jonesboro Occasions magazine’s generosity and because this 2026-2027 DSO season is unlike any we’ve ever planned before.

We’re coming off an excellent year that included superb concerts, a successful first-ever Candlelight Classic, multiple in-home concerts, a youth program expansion, and a momentous fundraising gala that kicked everything off. It was an excellent year, and one we’re building off of in historic ways.

Starting this season, there is more to the DSO than ever including:

• Our second annual Candlelight Classic.

• DSO’s first-ever film with Live Orchestra Concert (where the movie plays on a theater-grade screen with sound effects and dialogue, while our orchestra performs the soundtrack).

• Internationally accomplished soloists headlining our Christmas Concert and a Classical Romance Concert on Valentine’s Day.

• Four of the genre’s biggest, most famous, most dramatic symphony finales, by four world-famous composers including Beethoven and Dvorak, all within our Finale Concert.

• A new website – DeltaSymphonyOrchestra.org.

From “first-evers” to biggest budgets, every experience this year will be bigger and brighter than ever. And, as we shape up a historic season, we need your support.

Attend our Roaring Twenties-themed fundraising Gala on Saturday, Sept. 19. Come bid on an array of silent auction items and some huge live auction items, all while enjoying dinner and entertainment that includes singing, dancing, pianists and a brass quintet.

Other ways to support DSO include becoming a season ticket holder, sponsoring an event in what’s to be a highly publicized and well-attended season, donate to our youth program, which offers opportunities for area youth to learn these instruments and continue this centuries-old art, or simply attend any concert and help us fill the seats.

Every ticket makes a difference.

We’ve been blessed with many patrons, donors, sponsors, and volunteers—past and present—that have positioned this organization for what we’re ready to accomplish this season, and we’re hoping more will join the cohort to ensure this level of performance continues next season and beyond.
